Wyoming Child and Family Development Early Head Start

Early Head Start Center Based - Childcare Program

The Early Head Start Center Based program provides early learning, care and enrichment experiences to children in an early care and education setting with wrap-around childcare for children six weeks to three years old.

Parents must be working or going to school to qualify for this program. DFS childcare subsidies are accepted. The EHS services are free, but the childcare portion of the child’s day does include a fee. A $25.00 non-refundable registration fee is due at the time of enrollment.

Early Head Start Home Based Program:

Capacity: 10 children

The Early Head Start Home Based services are for pregnant moms and children birth to three years old. Services include a combination of weekly home visits and socialization experiences (class time) twice a month for two and a half hours. Child-focused home visits are individualized to help parents support their child’s growth and development. Parents are required to stay with the child at the socializations and participate in the home visits.

Pregnant women enrolled in Early Head Start have individualized home visits that promote healthy prenatal outcomes and help them prepare for the arrival of the child. Upon delivery, the child is then enrolled in Early Head Start and services continue.

Early Head Start 2:2 Program:

Capacity: 16 children

The Early Head Start 2:2 Combination provides services for children six weeks to three years old. The program offers two socializations per week for three hours and two home visits per month. The socialization provide early learning, care and enrichment experiences to children in an early care and education setting. Parents are not required to stay for socialization with their child, but are required to be a part of the home visits.

We recognize parents as a child’s first and most important teacher. By partnering with parents we can help prepare children for success in school and in life. Parents are always welcome and encouraged to participate in classroom and other center activities.
